SEE Digi.TV project presented at the ITU Regional Development Forum in Warsaw
At the invitation of the Polish Ministry of Administration and Digitization, the SEE Digi.TV Project Manager Tanja Kerševan Smokvina and the Member of the Project Team Igor Funa took an active part in the ITU Regional Development Forum and Regional Seminar for Europe and CIS Countries that was held from 7 to 9 May 2012 in Warsaw, Poland.
The ITU Regional Development Forum brought together representatives of policy makers, regulators, broadcasters and ICT industry in a high level dialogue on key challenges associated with spectrum management and digital dividend. The Seminar was an integral part of the ITU European Regional Initiative on Digital Broadcasting for Europe that aims to provide a platform for the exchange of best practices in transition to digital broadcasting, and explores the ways to maximize the economic and social benefits of the digital dividend.
The SEE Digi.TV project was presented in the panel, dedicated to the regional and international initiatives on transition to digital broadcasting and digital dividend implementation, which was chaired by the Director of the ITU Radiocommunication Bureau Francois Rancy. Besides the SEE Digi.TV project, the WEDDIP, NEDDIF and CEE Regional Working Group activities were also presented, providing a good overview of cross border coordination activities in different parts of Europe.
