SEE Digi.TV project to help digital switchover harmonization across the region
The first technical meeting and the second Executive Board meeting of the SEE Digi.TV project were held on 26 and 27 September in Budva (Montenegro) at the invitation of the Montenegrin regulatory authorities: the Agency for Electronic Media and the Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Service.
The discussion was focused on the key project components, which will be used to analyse the state of affairs and define recommendations for improvement of the legal, technical and economic framework for a successful completion of the digitalisation of broadcasting. The ways and tools that should raise public awareness of the digitalisation were also discussed.
Mrs. Tanja Kerševan Smokvina of the Post and Electronic Communications Agency of the Republic of Slovenia expressed her satisfaction with the pace of activities.
“I am very satisfied with the constructive approach of all partners. I am especially glad that the financing from the IPA funds have already been approved to the partners from Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania, and I hope that partners from Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina will be able to benefit from the IPA funds as well. This is of great importance for the success of the project,” said Mrs Kerševan Smokvina, Chair of the Executive Board of the Digi.TV project.
Until the next meeting, planned for November, partners will prepare the first drafts of the documents that will be used as a basis for further work and organisation of expert and public consultations both at the national and regional level.
SEE Digi.TV is funded by the European Commission within the SEE programme.
